- @James: I'm going to add an account by Frank Walden, a vet who participated in the first wave on D Day. This is an account about Virgil Mounts who was just 16 years old and a Navy Medic. Virgil Mounts was killed while tending to wounded G.I.s during the fighting on Omaha Beach.

- @James: What you just stated is a slap in the face to our WWII vets and to those who know them. If it was not for these heroes, you would be speaking Japanese or German .. if you were to be born at all. You apparently are disconnected from reality.

- The Great Depression was started by an individual trying to corner the Silver Market, not by the government of the time. FDR even though a Democrat, pulled the nation together and helped get it back on it's feet. Today's Democrats are totally different than the FDR Democrats.

- I grew up around WWII vets. The stories I was told have stuck with me all these years. My father recently passed away .. A WWII Navy Vet who saw action in the Pacific. Dad had 6 Brothers who also served in WWII and all saw action. One survived D day Omaha Beach, first wave as a medic.

- I thought long and hard on this issue and come to the conclusion that our mental health system needs to be radically overhauled to make it easier to identify, hold and treat these type of violent people (before they kill) and keep them within the institutional walls for as long as it takes.

- @skor: I think you need to go back to school or if you have already, give back your diploma. You don't know jack about the ecosystem. Gators are reptiles and you cannot gauge how well or bad the ecosystem is doing based on these creatures.

- Well, its nice and comforting to see an American businessman sweating bullets on continuing to use Chinese labor. Unforntunately he has not learned his lesson completely. He is still looking to outsource work to India and possibly Vietnam.

- @Barry-Moore - OK, Lets take your "appropriate response" which is negotiating with the Taliban for a 'peaceful solution'. History has shown that fanatics cannot be trusted or believed to hold up to their end of the bargain. In this case the Terrorist are Hitler, not western society.
